Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon parsley (freeze-dried or fresh)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 loaf French bread

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
  2. Stir in both grated Parmesan and shredded cheddar cheese into the butter mixture.
  3. Preheat the broiler on high and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  4. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise. Remove any excess crumbs to prepare for the butter mixture.
  5. Divide the butter and cheese mixture in half, spreading it evenly across the cut sides of the bread.
  6. Place the prepared bread on the foil-lined baking sheet.
  7. Broil the bread under high heat until the top is browned, bubbly, and the cheese has melted. Be sure to watch carefully and rotate the pan as needed for even broiling.
  8. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut each half into 12 skinny pieces, yielding 24 pieces in total.
  9. Serve warm. One serving consists of 2 pieces of garlic bread.
