Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and shortening until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the sugar, continuing to cream the mixture.
  4. Add the cream cheese and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  5. Alternately add the flour and eggs to the mixture, ensuring it’s completely blended after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
