Ingredients:
- 250 grams of wheat flour
- 125 grams of butter
- 4 eggs
- 150 grams of sugar
- 15 grams of cocoa powder
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 50 milliliters of milk
- 1 pinch of salt
Directions:
- Begin by greasing the cake mold with butter and then dusting it with flour to prevent sticking.
- In a bowl, combine the wheat flour with the sifted baking powder.
- Using a mixer, beat the room-temperature butter together with the sugar until the mixture becomes creamy and whitish.
- Gradually add 3 egg yolks and one whole egg to the sugar and butter mixture while continuing to beat. Reserve the remaining egg whites.
- Add the sifted flour and milk to this mixture and beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the 3 reserved egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake batter.
- Divide the cake batter into two separate containers.
- In one of the containers, add the cocoa powder and mix well to create a chocolate batter.
- Begin layering the batters in the greased and floured mold. Start with a layer of the plain batter, followed by a layer of the chocolate batter, alternating until all the batter is used.
- Use a skewer or a knife to create a marbled pattern by gently swirling it through the layers in the cake mold.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the marbled cake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the mold for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy your homemade marbled cake with a delicious combination of vanilla and chocolate flavors!
