For the Crust:
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of pecan pieces
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, and brown sugar using a pastry blender or a fork until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Press the mixture into an ungreased 9″ x 13″ baking pan.
- Sprinkle the pecan pieces evenly over the crust.
For the Caramel Layer:
- 2/3 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until it comes to a boil.
- Let it boil for 1 minute, then pour it evenly over the crust.
Baking:
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
For the Topping:
- 1 cup of milk chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Once the crust is done baking, remove it from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
- Let the chocolate chips sit for 5 minutes to melt, then spread them evenly over the surface of the bars.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing them into desired portion sizes.
