Cajun Honey Butter Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 3 Salmon Fillets
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil, divided
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika or Regular Paprika
  • 2 tsp Cajun or Creole Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt, more or less to taste
  • 4 tbsp Butter, softened or at room temperature
  • 3 tbsp Pure Honey
  • Fresh Parsley or Cilantro Leaves for Garnish, as desired

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a small bowl, combine all the dry seasonings: dried parsley flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (or regular paprika), cajun seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Set this seasoning mix aside.
  3. In another bowl, combine the softened butter and pure honey. Mix until well combined, and then set it aside.
  4. Pat dry the salmon fillets, and drizzle each fillet with a bit of olive oil.
  5. Season both sides of the salmon generously with the dry seasoning mixture, and squeeze fresh lemon juice over each fillet.
  6. Add a drizzle of olive oil to a skillet or oven-safe dish, and place the salmon fillets in the pan with a dollop of the honey butter on each fillet. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan. Reserve the remainder of the honey butter.
  7. Depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets, bake for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is flaky and the internal temperature reads 145°F (63°C).
  8. Around the 7-8 minute mark, when the salmon is nearing completion, add the remainder of the honey butter to the skillet.
  9. Remove the skillet from the oven when the salmon is done, and spoon the sauce over the salmon fillets. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro leaves as desired.
  10. Serve your delicious Honey Butter Cajun Salmon immediately!
