Category: Side Dish
Cuisine: American
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
- 6 slices provolone
- 6 slices Texas toast or other thick slice of bread
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preparation: Lightly toast the bread slices if desired. This step is optional but adds extra crunch.
- Seasoned Butter: In a bowl, mix melted butter, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano. Stir well to combine.
- Butter and Seasoning Application: Arrange the bread slices in an air fryer basket or on a baking sheet in a flat, single layer. Spread the seasoned butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
- Cheese Topping: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the seasoned bread. Place a slice of provolone on top of each bread slice.
- Cooking: For air frying, cook at 350°F for 5 minutes. Alternatively, bake in a convection oven at 375°F for 6–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with dried parsley. Serve the delicious Garlic and Cheese Texas Toast as a perfect accompaniment to pasta dishes or alongside your favorite meats.
Notes:
- Using day-old discounted bread works well and helps save money.
- Leftover garlic toast can be easily reheated in the toaster oven for just a couple of minutes.
