Homemade Hamburger Peppers And Onion Gyros

Homemade Hamburger Pepper and Onion Gyros are the perfect way to elevate your burger game. Packed with flavor and easy to make, they’re sure to be a hit with the whole family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup chopped red pepper
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 can Rotel green chiles with diced tomatoes, your choice Hot or Mild
  • 4 Pita breads, softened and warmed slightly
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ bleu cheese crumbles

Instructions:

  1. Slightly warm the Pitas in the microwave.
  2. In a skillet, crumble the ground beef. Add olive oil, green and red peppers, and onion. Cook until meat is no longer pink and the peppers and onions have softened.
  3. Add in the can of Rotel and stir to mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Layout four sheets of aluminum foil. Place a pita on each.
  5. Add roughly ¼ of the meat mix onto each pita.
  6. Using the aluminum foil, roll up the foil and the gyro together.
  7. Top with sour cream and bleu cheese if desired.
  8. Enjoy!

Note: Feel free to customize your gyros with additional toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, or tzatziki sauce for a personalized touch
