Homemade Peanut Butter Jelly French Toast

Equipment:

  • Large skillet or griddle

Ingredients:

For the French Toast:

  • 4 slices of Gluten-Free bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Dairy-Free milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Dairy-Free butter
  • Peanut butter, jelly, and banana slices

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Prepare the French Toast Batter:
In a bowl, mix together the egg, Dairy-Free milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract. Set this mixture aside.

2. Build the Sandwiches:
a. Spread peanut butter on one slice of Gluten-Free bread, and spread jelly on another slice.
b. Place banana slices on one side, and then combine the slices to create sandwiches.

3. Heat the Skillet:
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add Dairy-Free butter to melt.

4. Dip and Cook:
a. Quickly dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
b. Place the dipped sandwiches onto the hot skillet.

5. Cook Until Golden:
Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown.

6. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.

7. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
Dip the finished hot sandwiches into the cinnamon sugar mixture before serving.

8. Serve and Enjoy!
