Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half horizontally
- ¼ cup salted butter, softened
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni slices (optional, but recommended for “pepperoni” garlic bread)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Spread the softened butter over each half of the French bread. Sprinkle the garlic powder evenly over the buttered surfaces.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bread is lightly toasted.
- Remove the bread from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over each half.
- If using, add a layer of pepperoni slices over the sauce. You can also add any other toppings you desire at this point.
- Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Return the bread to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once done, let the bread cool for a few minutes. Then, slice it into individual portions and serve.
