Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of wheat flour
  • 125 grams of butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 15 grams of cocoa powder
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 50 milliliters of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Begin by greasing the cake mold with butter and then dusting it with flour to prevent sticking.
  2. In a bowl, combine the wheat flour with the sifted baking powder.
  3. Using a mixer, beat the room-temperature butter together with the sugar until the mixture becomes creamy and whitish.
  4. Gradually add 3 egg yolks and one whole egg to the sugar and butter mixture while continuing to beat. Reserve the remaining egg whites.
  5. Add the sifted flour and milk to this mixture and beat until well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the 3 reserved egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  7. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake batter.
  8. Divide the cake batter into two separate containers.
  9. In one of the containers, add the cocoa powder and mix well to create a chocolate batter.
  10. Begin layering the batters in the greased and floured mold. Start with a layer of the plain batter, followed by a layer of the chocolate batter, alternating until all the batter is used.
  11. Use a skewer or a knife to create a marbled pattern by gently swirling it through the layers in the cake mold.
  12. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the marbled cake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  13. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the mold for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  14. Slice and enjoy your homemade marbled cake with a delicious combination of vanilla and chocolate flavors!
