Ingredients
For the crust
- 1 egg
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 box yellow cake mix
For the filling
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 16 oz powdered sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) while you prepare your ingredients.
- Grease a baking dish and set it aside.
- In a bowl, combine the ingredients for the crust: 1 egg, softened butter, and yellow cake mix. Mix well until you get a dry mixture.
- Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish, covering it evenly.
- To prepare the filling, in another bowl, mix together the cream cheese, vanilla essence, and 2 eggs. Start by adding 1/4 of the powdered sugar into a separate small bowl or cup.
- Slowly add the remaining powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture while continuously mixing with your other hand. Ensure that you add the powdered sugar gradually to avoid creating a mess.
- After about 3 minutes of mixing, your creamy filling should be ready.
- Pour the creamy filling over the crust in the baking dish.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until set. It may appear puffy while baking, but it will settle down as it cools.
- Let the bars cool completely, then sprinkle with the reserved powdered sugar.
- Once cooled, cut into bars and serve to your friends and family. Enjoy
