Pecan Cheddar Cheese Ring with Strawberry Preserves Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)
  • 3/4 to 1 cup toasted and finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves

Instructions:

  1. Begin by mixing the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if desired) in a large bowl. Blend until you achieve a cohesive cheese paste.
  2. On a serving dish, mold the cheese mixture into a ring, ensuring a hollow center for the preserves.
  3. Carefully coat the outer surface of the cheese ring with the toasted, chopped pecans, pressing them in to adhere well.
  4. Fill the center hollow with strawberry preserves, leveling it with the cheese ring’s top for a visually appealing presentation.
  5. Refrigerate the cheese ring for at least one hour to solidify and integrate the flavors.
  6. Serve chilled with a cheese spreader or knife for guests to layer the scrumptious cheese onto their preferred accompaniments.
