Description: These Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich. Made with lean ground beef, sautéed onions and green peppers, and smothered in a savory A-1 Steak Sauce and beef broth mixture, these sloppy joes are packed with flavor. Top them off with melted provolone cheese and serve on toasted buns for a mouthwatering meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup beef broth
- ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Hamburger buns or sliders
Instructions:
- In a skillet pan over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef, diced onion, chopped green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
- Stir the cornstarch into the cooked ground beef mixture until the meat is evenly coated with cornstarch.
- Add the beef broth, A-1 Steak Sauce, and steak seasoning to the skillet. Stir everything together and bring it to a boil.
- Once it’s boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. The mixture should thicken as it simmers, and it will thicken further once removed from heat.
- While the meat mixture is simmering, set your oven to broil and place the hamburger buns or sliders on a cookie sheet. Butter each bun lightly. Broil them for just a few minutes, keeping a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- When the meat mixture is done simmering, use a slotted spoon to scoop it onto the bottom half of each bun.
- Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the meat mixture.
- Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven under the broiler for a few more minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Finally, place the top half of the bun with the melted cheese on top of the bottom bun with the Philly Cheesesteak mixture.
- Serve your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes hot and enjoy the delicious, cheesy, and savory goodness!
These Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are sure to be a hit with your family and friends. Enjoy!
