Ingredients
  

  • 1 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 oz milk chocolate chips
  • 16 large marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • 8-inch square baking pan
  • parchment paper

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and continue cooking until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly add marshmallows, vanilla, and chopped nuts. Stir until fully combined.
  5. Pour mixture into a parchment-lined 8-inch pan and spread evenly.
  6. Allow to cool completely at room temperature.
  7. Cut into neat squares and serve.

Notes

  • This recipe makes approximately 24 small squares of fudge.
  • For a firmer fudge, refrigerate before cutting.
  • Fudge makes an excellent holiday gift—just wrap in wax paper or gift boxes.
