Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Wire cooling rack

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, maple extract, and egg until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate melting wafers until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Cookies continue to set as they cool, so avoid overbaking to keep them chewy. For extra maple flavor, drizzle melted white chocolate mixed with a drop of maple extract over cooled cookies. This recipe doubles easily for larger batches.
