  • 1 can (15 oz) chili (with or without beans)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • cooking spray

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • knife & cutting board
  • spatula or spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced hot dogs, chili, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and onion (if using). Stir well.
  3. Unroll crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of the baking dish, sealing perforations.
  4. Spread hot dog and chili mixture evenly over the dough. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use all-beef hot dogs for the best flavor. Want a crispier topping? Broil for 1–2 minutes after baking. This recipe is kid-approved, party-ready, and reheats beautifully.
