Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups sliced apples (about 6 medium, peeled and cored)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Allow the apple crisp to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This recipe serves 8 but can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar in the topping.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
