Ingredients

  • 1 box orange-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 container whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (optional)

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • spoon or spatula
  • measuring cups
  • Plastic wrap or airtight lid
  • Serving bowl or dish

Method

  1. Pour orange-flavored gelatin into a large mixing bowl. Add boiling water and stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in cold water and allow the mixture to cool for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add mandarin oranges and mini marshmallows, folding gently. Stir in cottage cheese if using.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for 1–2 hours until chilled and set. Serve cold.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are well-drained and chilled. Gently folding prevents deflation of the whipped topping. This dessert thickens slightly as it chills and is easy to scale for large groups.
