Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups reduced-fat cream
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb shrimp (500 g), tails optional
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • salt & pepper, to taste

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing spoon or spatula
  • sharp knife & cutting board
  • measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then sear 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits, and reduce by half.
  4. Lower heat, stir in cream, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan until melted and sauce thickens.
  6. Return shrimp to skillet, toss to coat, and sprinkle with parsley.
  7. Plate over pasta, rice, or vegetables and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Best served immediately for the creamiest texture. Adjust garlic amount depending on preference. A dash of chili flakes or lemon zest takes it to the next level.
