Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • Sharp knife or pizza cutter
  • parchment paper optional, for easier cleanup
  • Pastry brush optional, for applying condiments

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a flat surface and separate it into triangles. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle into thin strips to form mummy bandages.
  3. Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, leaving small gaps near the top for the face. Overlap the strips for a mummy look.
  4. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  5. Remove from oven and cool slightly. Use mustard or ketchup to make eyes on each mummy.
  6. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or cheese sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, use veggie or tofu-based hot dogs.
  • Watch the dough closely during baking to prevent over-browning.
  • These Mummy Hot Dogs are best enjoyed fresh and warm from the oven.
