- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onions, almonds, bacon, and hot sauce. Stir until well mixed.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter until coated. Sprinkle evenly over casserole.
- Place casserole uncovered in oven and bake 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
Notes
Double the recipe if serving a crowd—it’s always the first dish to disappear. For extra cheesiness, sprinkle an additional half-cup of cheddar on top before adding the Ritz crackers. Leftovers taste even better the next day as flavors deepen.
