Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment

  • 9x9 inch baking dish
  • mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer or hand whisk
  • spatula
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • Sharp knife

Method

  1. Combine pretzel crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl. Press firmly into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish to form the crust.
  2. Spread caramel sauce evenly over the crust and sprinkle with sea salt.
  3. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Spread whipped cream evenly over the caramel layer. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  5. Slice into bars and serve chilled.

Notes

For clean slices, wipe the knife between cuts. Adjust the salt level based on personal preference. Bars can soften slightly at room temperature, so keep chilled until serving.
