Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • medium-sized saucepan
  • stirring spoon or whisk
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • 8x8 or 11x13 greased pan
  • parchment paper (optional)

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and milk. Stir well until dissolved.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Once it reaches a rapid boil, let it boil for exactly 2 ½ minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the peanut butter while still hot and stir until smooth.
  5. Quickly pour into a greased 8x8 or 11x13 pan and smooth the top.
  6. Allow the fudge to cool completely before slicing. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to speed setting.

Notes

This recipe can be doubled to fit an 11x13 pan, making it ideal for large gatherings. For a smaller batch, simply halve the ingredients and use an 8x8 pan. Lining the pan with parchment makes removing and cutting easier.
