Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • small mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • baking sheet
  • aluminum foil
  • wire rack
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse chicken wings and pat completely dry. Place wings in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk pineapple juice, brown sugar, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour marinade over wings and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  4. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a greased wire rack on top. Arrange wings in a single layer. Bake for 25–30 minutes, brushing lightly with marinade halfway through.
  5. Broil wings for 3–5 minutes for extra crispiness if desired. Remove from oven, rest briefly, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Reserve marinade carefully and brush lightly to prevent burning
  • Adjust sweetness by reducing brown sugar if preferred
  • Garnish with extra jalapeños or green onions for presentation
  • Always rest wings briefly before serving for best texture
