Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed) or homemade brownie batter
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 12–16 candy pumpkins (such as Brach’s Mellowcreme Pumpkins)
  • green frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • optional: piping bag with small round tip

Equipment

  • 9×9-inch baking pan
  • mixing bowls
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • zip-top bag and rolling pin
  • piping bag and small round tip
  • offset spatula or spoon

Method

  1. Prepare the brownie batter according to the package or recipe directions. Pour into a greased 9×9-inch pan and bake as directed. Let cool completely before decorating.
  2. Place Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag and crush into fine crumbs using a rolling pin. Set aside.
  3. Spread the crushed Oreo “dirt” evenly over the cooled brownies, pressing gently to help it stick.
  4. Gently press the candy pumpkins into the Oreo layer, spacing them evenly across the surface.
  5. Use green frosting with a piping bag to pipe curly vines and small leaves around each pumpkin for a decorative touch.
  6. Cut into squares, ensuring each brownie includes a candy pumpkin and some frosting decoration.

Notes

  • For best presentation, decorate just before serving.
  • Use dark chocolate brownies for a richer contrast against the orange pumpkins.
  • Perfect for Halloween dessert tables, kids’ parties, or cozy fall gatherings.
