Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • optional dips: Dijon mustard, honey mustard, or ranch dressing

Equipment

  • skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • wooden spoon
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage for 6–8 minutes until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix cooked sausage with softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese (if using), and all seasonings until well combined.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll tightly from the wide end to the tip, sealing the edges to keep the filling inside.
  6. Arrange crescents on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter or sprinkle Parmesan cheese before baking for extra flavor, if desired.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with Dijon mustard, honey mustard, or ranch dressing.

Notes

  • Great for brunches, potlucks, and tailgate parties.
  • You can prepare the filling a day in advance to save time.
  • Leftovers make an excellent grab-and-go breakfast or snack.
