Ingredients

  • 3–4 lbs apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Slow cooker / Crockpot
  • cutting board
  • Sharp knife or apple slicer
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • mixing spoon

Method

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into wedges.
  2. Place apples in the slow cooker and sprinkle with cornstarch. Stir to coat evenly.
  3. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Stir well.
  4. Pour in melted butter, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy.
  6. Stir before serving. Enjoy warm on their own or as a topping for desserts.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, use dark brown sugar.
  • Adjust cinnamon based on preference—start with 1 teaspoon and add more if desired.
  • Serve immediately for best texture, as apples may soften further when reheated.
