  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 oz dry stuffing mix
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • large mixing bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • oven
  • spatula or spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, Swiss cheese, cream of mushroom soup, milk, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the dry stuffing mix with melted butter until evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle the buttered stuffing mix across the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling is heated through.

Notes

Allow the casserole to cool for several minutes before slicing for cleaner servings. Cover leftovers when reheating to keep the stuffing from drying out. Add garlic powder or poultry seasoning to deepen the flavor.
