Ingredients:
- 4-5 potatoes, peeled and sliced
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
- 450 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 9 oz crushed tomatoes
- Optional: shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and 1/2 tsp sweet paprika.
- Bake for 20 minutes until the potatoes start to soften.
- Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and ground beef with salt, black pepper, 1/2 tsp sweet paprika, and oregano until the beef is browned.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spoon the beef mixture over the pre-baked potatoes. If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
