Ground Beef and Potato Bake

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 450 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 9 oz crushed tomatoes
  • Optional: shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and 1/2 tsp sweet paprika.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes until the potatoes start to soften.
  4. Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and ground beef with salt, black pepper, 1/2 tsp sweet paprika, and oregano until the beef is browned.
  5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture over the pre-baked potatoes. If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious ground beef and potato bake!
