Sweet Blueberry Biscuits

Ingredients:

For Biscuit:

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup cold Milk
  • ⅓ cup Sugar
  • 5 tablespoons Butter (cold or frozen)
  • 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 ounces Blueberries, fresh or dried

For Glaze:

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ⅛ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon Lemon Juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix salt, sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  3. Add cold milk and blueberries to the dry ingredients and mix.
  4. Before baking, put one stick of butter in your freezer for roughly one hour.
  5. Remove the frozen butter and break it into chunks. Spread the frozen powdered chunks evenly over your biscuit dough.
  6. Fold the blueberry biscuit dough and knead until all the frozen butter chunks are evenly spread.
  7. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it to about 1/4 to 1/8 inches thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut approximately 6 biscuits.
  8. Bake the biscuits for approximately 7 to 12 minutes.
  9. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in your microwave and gently paint it on top of the hot biscuits.
  10. In a separate bowl, mix together powdered sugar, water, vanilla, and lemon juice to create the glaze.
  11. Drizzle the honey glaze over the biscuits.
